Desperation

It was too much to grasp, too heavy to hold

So distant, so dense; a story untold

I clung to my own, for I had to be near

She screamed in a rage, we reacted in fear

I give back the things I so selfishly stole

Agreeing for life, this permanent role

There’s many who run from eagerness to save

I ache for their victims, rushed to a grave

I pity you now, insidious foe

Your lack of compassion will fill you with woe
